Meet the Dentists
| Alan H. Broadbent, D.M.D. Shortly after graduating from Washington University School of Dental Medicine, I realized that there were people attached to the teeth I was working on. I was not an implant to the C-U area and I had a town in common with those folks. With concern, a sense of humor, and a desire to serve others, these patients became friends. It has been a fun trip. JoAnne joined me on this trip 30 years ago. We were eventually joined by 4 sons. The boys chose all non-dental careers. They have interest in some forms of computer science. Grandchildren are now joining us. Continuing education has been an obsession with me over the years. Several hundred hours of continuing education have helped to make the practice grow. Classes in root canals, gum disease, crowns and bridges, photography, business applications, orthodontics—all give greater insight to the practice of dentistry and these classes have been held in some interesting places. Our interests have varied over the years and we focused on the family. While the boys were growing up we all went through scouts together. Mom as a den leader and I was cub master. They were in Boy Scouts and I was scoutmaster and unit commissioner. We have camped together in the Adirondack Mountains every summer for over 30 years. We have fished together, hiked together and shared many a Dutch oven meal. Now that they are grown we have adopted 7 birds and we have 2 backyard pools with numerous fish. JoAnne is a master gardner and Alan takes orders in the garden. For a regular night out we take dance classes. Progress is slow, but it is fun. Traveling is always fun. The map in the office with all the pins will show you where we have been and some places I would like to go. "Life is good and is meant to be enjoyed.
